UDAVIKKARAM mourns the sudden demise of PULAVAR A.K.ARUNACHALAM and his wife Mrs.Geetha, today (30.6.2020)due to CORONA Virus attack. His son Manikandan  aged 32 years, a mentally  retarded  person is also worst suffering due to CORONA still in the hospital.

PULAVAR ARUNACHALAM is born BLIND aged 61 years and today he has completed 61years being his birthday but unfortunately today the GOD has taken away his life. In spite of our best efforts to treat him in the hospital as a VIP, the CORONA virus won the battle.

Quite unfortunate and unbelievable.

Arunachalam has been spending whole of his life for the welfare of visually handicapped persons. He has been the President of ALL  INDIA BLIND PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION and also the vice President of TAMILNADU UDAVIKKARAM ASSOCIATION FOR WELFARE OF DIFFERENTLY ABLED. and very closely  associated with DAVIKKARAM

during the last 4 decades.

He always voices his concern for protecting the rights of Blind person and a Board member of Tamilnadu Differendly abled  welfare board,Tamilnadu Transport monitoring committe for Differently abled etc.

He is a National Awardee as well as State Awardee for his services to the Differently abled peoples

Even before he was admitted in to the hospital, he represented to Honble Chief Minister of Tamilnadu and met the CM in his house and requested for Rs.5000/- per differently abled person as CORONA relief. ALAS, the wonderful human being is not alive when the CM announced CORONA relief of  Rs.1000/-  each to all the 13.5lakhs differently abled persons in the state.

Even during the LOCK DOWN period he went door to door about 500 blind person’s houses and distributed Rice packets, groceries  packets, mask,gloves,financial assistance etc and unfortunately both he and his wife got infected with CORONA virus

Through PULAVAR ARUNACHALAM and his service minded wife Mrs.Geetha Arunachalam left all of us suddenly their sacrifice and selfless services will ever be remembered by all the visually handicapped  persons and other differently persons all over the state.

UDAVIKKARAM conveys deepest and heartfelt condolences to all his kith and kin and all the members and office bearers of ALL  INDIA BLIND PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION
